How to control Fusarium head blight in wheat? Use "Shamie'er" to manage Fusarium head blight in wheat—don't wait until the disease spreads over a large area before spraying.

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a common disease of wheat, with its incidence closely associated with overcast and rainy weather as well as high humidity. Upon infection, it causes leaf spotting and premature defoliation, thereby reducing yield. The control of Fusarium head blight should emphasize early prevention and the selection of appropriate fungicides—Shamie'er 50% Thiophanate-methyl Wettable Powder (WP) is registered for the management of Fusarium head blight on wheat and can be applied by foliar spraying according to the label instructions.

I. Look carefully before deciding on pesticide application.

Fusarium head blight of wheat typically first shows symptoms on the leaves, with lesions developing from the lower to the upper parts of the plant and increasing in number over time. In the early stage, the symptoms are inconspicuous, and by the time the lesions coalesce into larger patches, spraying is often too late. Therefore, it is advisable to make frequent field inspections and apply the first fungicide spray as soon as lesions are observed on the wheat, so as to suppress the pathogen at an early stage.

II. How to Use Killedel

Shamie 50% Thiophanate-methyl Wettable Powder, Registration No. PD91106-8 (subject to the actual label). Primarily used for controlling wheat Fusarium head blight, and also effective against pear scab and rice blast. Apply at a rate of 100–140 g per mu, mixed with water and sprayed at the early stage of disease onset. A second application may be made at intervals of 7–10 days depending on disease severity. Ensure sufficient water volume and thoroughly wet the affected plant parts during spraying.

III. Do Not Overlook These Points After Pesticide Application

Prolonged and continuous use of fungicides such as thiophanate-methyl wettable powder can readily lead to the development of pathogen resistance. It is therefore recommended to rotate with fungicides of different modes of action. The specific dosage and water volume should be determined according to the product label, as local crop varieties and weather conditions vary; do not simply copy the application regimes used elsewhere.
